K-drama actor Lee Jong Suk is officially back after serving in the South Korean military for almost two years.
Korean entertainment website Allkpop on Saturday reported that Jong Suk has been discharged from the military after completing his mandatory enlistment as a social service worker since March 8, 2019.
According to a Naver report, the 31-year-old actor did the alternative military service instead of active duty because of an injured ligament caused by a car accident when he was young.
Much to the delight of his fans, Jong Suk marked his return and ended his social media hiatus by posting photos of himself on Instagram.
“I’m back,” he captioned his black and white pics.
The post received a warm welcome from his fans which received more than one million likes within an hour of posting.
Prior to his enlistment, Jong Suk — fondy called as “Higop King” by Filipino fans — last starred in the romantic comedy series Romance is a Bonus Book with Lee Na Young.
The actor first debuted as a runway model in 2005 before launching his career as an actor in 2010. He has since appeared in several K-dramas such as Secret Garden, Doctor Stranger, W and While You Were Sleeping.
