Despite health concerns, Kris Aquino kept her promise of helping out those in need of assistance just before her mother Cory Aquino’s birthday on the 25th of January.
The host-actress took to social media to update her supporters on the status of her health and her promised COVID-19 relief efforts.
Kris shared that while her condition is far from okay but she will continue to do what she can to help Filipinos.
“Mahaba pa ang laban ko to strengthen my body and heal my broken heart. But from childhood I already knew, for me weakness could never be an option.”
She added that she will remain strong for her two sons Joshua and Bimby.
“I am just reciprocating in the way I am at present able to, the LOVE, SUPPORT, KINDNESS, COMPASSION, and LOYALTY many Filipinos have given me and my family, especially now that many need assistance. Lahat ng napangakuan, ginagawan ng paraan na matupad bago mag January 25, birthday in heaven ng mom ko,” she wrote.
On the set of photos she shared, the 50-year-old said that she decided to help out after she has heard that a government official admitted he does not know why the Department of Health (DOH) could not provide COVID-19 care kits.
“Unsolicited advice po: Kayo ang naka pwesto ngayon, madaling humingi ng donations, especially pag nag THANK YOU ang MALACAÑANG, honored ang donors. Simple lang – lahat nakatulong, lahat may mahalagang nagawa para sa mahal nating bansa,” she said.
Another set of snaps featured Kris’ donation of 800 pieces of COVID-19 antigen test kits for the Bureau of Immigration employees and her pledge to send out 1,000 cheese pandesal for the Philippine General Hospital’s (PGH) personnel, patients and companions for 10 consecutive Wednesdays.
