A day after he confirmed that his staffer tested positive for COVID-19, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla is now mourning his death due to the virus.
The lawmaker earlier announced that the late staff member was hospitalized in Imus, Cavite due to pneumonia.
In a statement on Facebook on Sunday, March 29, Revilla asked prayers for his longtime staff and friend.
“I lost my staff and friend of almost 30 years to this COVID-19 this afternoon. I ask everyone for prayers especially para sa kanyang iniwang mga mahal sa buhay,” he wrote.
Revilla expressed his disbelief on the sudden death of his staff.
“Everything was so fast and sudden. He has been with me mula sa pag-aartista — through the ups and downs, the thick and thin — tapos ngayon wala na siya,” he stated.
Napakasakit.”
“We had a good run. I will miss you. It will not be the same,” he added.
The senator then urged everyone to follow quarantine protocols.
“Please, please — stay at home.
