Congratulations, Chef Juday!
Multi-awarded actress Judy Ann Santos proudly shared her new milestone outside of acting after finishing the Professional Culinary Arts Program at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies (CACS).
Santos proudly shared the good news on her official Instagram pages with photos and videos of her toque ceremony which involves the pinning of a toque, a tall white hat worn by professional chefs.
“Overdue na talaga ‘to,” ABS-CBN News quoted Santos who expressed her happiness over the long-awaited achievement delayed by the pandemic.
“Hindi pa kami nakaka-graduate kasi nag-pandemic. Nagkataon may graduation. Makaka-marcha na ako natapos ko na kasi yung [Pro-Culinary Studies] dito sa CACS. Ito na ‘yun. What a good way to start my 2025. Akalain mo nga naman.”
During her speech at the ceremony, the actress took a moment to reflect on her culinary journey.
“Last time I graduated here at CACS was a long, long time ago and then I decided to further my skills into cooking,” she recalled. “It is this school that made me believe na I could actually do so much more apart from acting. The world of culinary is endless. Wala siyang corners. It’s a beautiful journey,” said Juday.
Santos left an inspiring message about the value of lifelong learning, saying, “You’re never too old to learn something new. So aral pa tayo some more. Yehey, graduate na ako at 46!”
Judy Ann previously took a culinary course at the same institution in 2006 where she reportedly graduated with honors.
She also ventured into food business in May 2019 by establishing her own restaurant, Angrydobo, with its first branch on Taft Avenue, Manila and a second branch in Alabang in February the next year.
The celebrity mom also has her own YouTube cooking channel, “Judy Ann’s Kitchen” which features a heartfelt and approachable take on home cooking.
