Doctor and social media personality Doc Willie Ong has opened up about another difficult chapter in his family’s health journey, revealing that his wife, Dr. Liza Ong, has been diagnosed with breast cancer while he continues battling Stage 4 sarcoma.

In their recent vlog, Doc Willie shared that Dr. Liza is undergoing treatment for breast cancer, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy. She is scheduled to complete 12 weeks of chemotherapy before undergoing surgery to remove her right breast.

“Twelve sessions of chemo, nakakaanim na siya. Ang plano, after 12 weeks of chemo, surgery. So, mastectomy, tatanggalin ‘yung right breast niya,” Doc Willie said.

Dr. Liza also addressed her followers, revealing that she was diagnosed with breast cancer six weeks ago and remains determined to fight the illness.

“Kaya ko ito at lalabanan ko ito. Tuloy-tuloy pa din kami sa paggawa ng health tips para sa inyo,” she said.

Meanwhile, Doc Willie said his own condition remains holding steady as he continues maintenance treatment through immunotherapy and targeted therapy for Stage 4 sarcoma.

“Ako ay may sarcoma stage 4. Si Doc Liza ay may breast cancer. Imbes na malungkot, ginamit namin ang sakit namin para mag-educate sa ating kababayan,” he shared.

The couple encouraged the public to prioritize early detection, reminding people not to ignore symptoms such as pain or unusual lumps and to seek medical advice as soon as possible.

Amid their simultaneous health battles, Doc Willie said they continue to draw strength from their faith and their mission of helping others.

“Hindi ko alam bakit nagkaganito. Sunod lang kami sa God’s will. Ang sabi ng pari sa amin sa pagsubok na ito ay ‘way of the saints’ daw. Iyan ang nagpapagaan sa kalooban namin,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude for the support of his followers and the fulfillment he feels from years of serving patients through free consultations and medical missions.

“Kung maikli na lang ang buhay ko ay masaya pa rin ako. Dahil alam kong nagawa ko ang misyon ko para sa Diyos at para sa inyo,” Doc Willie said.
