The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has summoned the producers of noontime show E.A.T. after host Wally Bayola uttered profane words during a live episode on Thursday.
In a press release on Friday, MTRCB issued the production group of E.A.T a Notice to Appear and Testify over the said incident where Wally was heard swearing on live television during the show’s“Sugod Bahay mga Kapatid!” segment.
“Said scene is in violation of Section 2 (B), Chapter IV of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Presidential Decree No. 1986 (PD No. 1986),” read MTRCB’s statement.
The hearing date is set on Monday, August 14, at the MTRCB Offices in Timog Avenue, Quezon City.
“Any violation of PD No. 1986 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations governing motion pictures, television programs, and related promotional materials shall be penalized with suspension or cancellation of permits and/or licenses issued by the Board and/or with the imposition of fines and other administrative penalty/penaltie,” stated MTRCB.
Meanwhile, Wally and fellow Dabarkads host Jose Manalo addressed the issue in the show’s Friday episode and aired their apologies after a clip of the incident received backlash on social media.
