Senator Manny Pacquaio imparted marriage advice to recently married Matteo Guidicelli. Just a month ago, the actor tied the knot with Sarah Geronimo despite her parent’s objections.
On Facebook live fundraiser, “One Voice Pilipinas”, Pacquiao shared how he encountered the same disapproval from his parents.
“What happened to you now, that’s my experience. It happened to me and Jinkee before. Nagpakasal kami wala yung magulang ko kasi ayaw nila kay Jinkee,” he said.
He continued on to share how only his one brother was present during his wedding.
With time, the senator’s mother grew to become fond of Jinkee and his family. “Unti-unti niya ng nakikita na kailangan palang suportahan ang anak,” he said.
Despite his family’s disapproval of their wedding, Pacquiao stressed that he still cherishes his parents.
“Di ko naman sinasabi na mama’s boy ako, that’s our responsibility, we should love our parents,” he reminded.
In his 22 years of marriage with Jinkee, Pacquiao admitted it feels like 50 years already because of the trials they have been through.
He reminded Guidicelli that if he would ever need marital advice, his line is always open.
“Anything that I can help with or advice sa iyo, you can call me anytime,” he ended.
Agreeing to everything the senator said, Guidicelli shared his realization of how precious everything is given the current crisis.
“Sa mga panahon na ito, sa current situation, it makes us realize how precious life is, how precious relationships are, how precious everything is. Yung mga single relationship natin sa mama, papa, mga kapatid natin,” he said.
