Cultural activist and performance artist Carlos Celdran passed away at 46, his wife Tesa Celdran announced Tuesday, October 8. “As the family is making arrangements to bring him home, no details can be announced yet. Only that he passed from natural causes,” she wrote. Another icon in the entertainment history has passed away last October 5. Movie queen Amalia Fuentes passed away due to a massive organ failure. Fuentes’ granddaughter confirmed her death in an Instagram post. “It is with great sadness that I together with my siblings Alfonso and Alissa inform you that our grandmother, Amalia Amado Muhlach aka ‘Amalia Fuentes’ has taken her last breath this morning in the Philippines,” she wrote. HBO Asia announced a brand-new anthology drama series, Food Lore, that showcases an episode set in the Philippines. Erik Matti directs the episode titled Island of Dreams. The eight-episode, hour-long series explores human conditions through narratives inspired by Asian cuisine. Along with the BuyBust director are six other filmmakers who will handle the episodes in their respective countries.
