Members of the iconic Taiwanese boy band F4 have extended financial assistance to families affected by the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao, donating P2.5 million to the GMA Kapuso Foundation’s Operation Bayanihan.

The charitable contribution was announced by the foundation through its official Facebook page on Tuesday, June 23.

“Renowned F✦FOREVER members Jerry Yan, Van Ness Wu, Vic Chou and Ashin have generously extended their hearts to the Philippines by donating ₱2.5 million to GMA Kapuso Foundation’s Operation Bayanihan. This humanitarian contribution is dedicated to supporting relief and rehabilitation efforts for families devastated by the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao,” the foundation said.

According to the organization, the donation will help provide immediate relief and support recovery efforts for communities severely affected by the disaster.

“Beyond their legendary artistry, the global superstars have consistently shown immense love for their Filipino fans. Through this immediate financial aid, they hope to bring urgent comfort and essential support to displaced communities striving to recover from the natural disaster,” the post added.

The donation comes as thousands of families continue to grapple with the aftermath of the powerful earthquake.

According to reports based on the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Disaster Response Operations Monitoring, Information and Communication (DROMIC) report, as of June 22, the earthquake had affected 380,379 families, or approximately 1.63 million individuals, across 635 barangays in Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, SOCCSKSARGEN, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The GMA Kapuso Foundation noted that the contribution reflects the enduring connection between the group and its Filipino supporters since becoming a sensation from the hit Taiwanese series “Meteor Garden”.

“This meaningful contribution reflects the group’s enduring bond with the Philippines, further strengthening the connection they have built with Filipino fans through the years,” the foundation said.

The donation comes just days before F4’s highly anticipated return to the Philippines for their “F✦FOREVER” 1st World Tour on June 27 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
