The Philippines’ biggest P-pop acts SB19 and BINI are setting their sights on international recognition as they seek consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards.
Both groups announced on Tuesday, Oct. 13, that they had submitted multiple entries to the US Recording Academy for consideration, including some of their recent and chart-topping releases.
SB19 submitted two songs: “VISA” for Best Asian Pop Music Performance and “LAWLESS” for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
This marks another bid for Grammy recognition for the quintet, which previously submitted its hit song “GENTO” for consideration in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category in 2023, ahead of the 66th Grammy Awards.
Meanwhile, BINI is seeking consideration in three categories: Best Asian Pop Music Performance for “Unang Kilig” and Best Song Written for Visual Media for “A Parallel World,” an official soundtrack of DreamWorks’ Filipino-inspired film, “Forgotten Island”.
The eight-member girl group also submitted itself for consideration in the Best New Artist category.
The first round of voting for the 2027 Grammy Awards runs from Oct. 12 to 22, 2026, with the nominees scheduled to be announced on Nov. 16.
The final round of voting to determine the winners across all categories is set for Dec. 10, 2026, to Jan. 7, 2027.
The 69th Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 7, 2027.
