“The Summer I Turned Pretty” star Lola Tung was brought to tears after receiving a message from Filipina Broadway icon Lea Salonga.
Lola guested on American morning show Today where she talked about making her way to the Broadway scene following her successful stint in “The Summer I Turned Pretty” series.
The program surprised Lola with a message from Lea who’s one of the favorite Broadway stars of the actress.
“Hey Lola, it’s Lea. Nice to meet you. ‘Just wanted to say break a leg on your broadway debut in Hades Town,” Lea uttered in the video message.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the show again. And now you’re giving me the reason to go,” added Lea .
Lola then started to get emotional after hearing the award-winning broadway icon’s message.
“That’s really cool, wow. I didn’t expect to get emotional. Thank you,” Lola said, wiping her tears.
“This is such a huge deal for me. I’m so excited.Thank you. And she’s just a huge, huge icon. Wow. It means a lot, thank you,” she added.
Lola rose to fame with her breakout role as Belly in the TV adaptation of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
