“Minsan patulan din sila” is what Mariel Rodriguez has to say to netizens who have been body-shaming her online.
In an Instagram story, the mommy of two shared a screenshot of her interaction with a netizen who commented about her weight on her recent YouTube video.
“Ang taba mo,” the netizen said.
Mariel did not let the rude comment slide and she responded with a straight-to-the-point answer, similar to the netizen’s.
“Ang pangit mo,” she wrote back.
Her interaction with the netizen was under her most recent YouTube vlog where she talked about her breastfeeding experience with her two daughters, Isabella and Gabriela.
Pero hindi siya nangyari kasi lagi akong mataba after,” Mariel laughingly admitted in the video.
She further recalled that she would get compliments during the pregnancy, but the exact opposite after she gave birth.
I have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) which means that my reproductive system is just messed up. Iba ako sa ibang mga babae.”
Because she belonged to the group of women who have PCOS and don’t have enough milk, she had more food intake to be able to breastfeed.
“Part of it is breastfeeding and part of it, ginusto ko rin, ginusto kong kumain,” she said of her weight gain.
In August, Mariel’s husband Robin Padilla also defended her from the weight comments.
