For her 34th birthday, Maxene Magalona took to social media to pen a letter thanking God for another year of life.
In her letter, she affirmed that even with her search for happiness, she only found peace and immeasurable joy in God.
“I’ve searched high and low for happiness and chased so many different kinds of pleasures but it was only in You that I found inner peace and immeasurable joy,” she wrote.
On her special day, she wished for healing, harmony and happiness for the whole world.
“Please watch over our families and friends in the Philippines and protect our loved ones from harm. I humbly ask that You continue to bless our country and the rest of the world during these difficult times,” she said.
She then prayed for her marriage with her husband Rob Mananquil, that they continue to receive His guidance on their journey.
“I know I am not perfect and I do not strive to be but I am confident that Your love is and it is the only thing that I will ever need in this life,” she ended.
Maxene has been vocal about her journey from being a “toxic and alcoholic party girl” to a vegan yogi. She opened up about how Rob has encouraged her to have faith in God.
Back in May, she shared that she has dealt with bouts of anxiety and episodes of rage which later on was diagnosed as complex post traumatic stress disorder or C-PTSD.
Maxine, who has been staying with her husband in Bali since the lockdown, revealed that she turned to therapy, yoga, meditation and prayer to help her heal.
