Since vaccine rollouts have started in Metro Manila and other parts of the country, these personalities who have already received their first jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine encouraged the public to get vaccinated when their turn comes.
Neil Arce
On Thursday, the film producer said getting vaccinated is an individual’s obligation to society. Neil said he received the Sinovac vaccine since it was the one administered to persons with comorbidities in Taguig City.
“Bottomline: ‘WAG MAGING PASIKIP SA OSPITAL. Let’s all get vaccinated! Stop making the tito’s and tita’s chatgroups as your source of information. Listen to the experts,” he wrote in his Instagram post.
Ogie Diaz
The talent manager shared on his Facebook page that he has already received his first dose of the Sinovac vaccine on Wednesday. In his post, he recounted how the vaccination process went.
“Nakapag-first dose na ako ng bakuna. Balik ko after 28 days. Sabi nila, kung ano ang available, yun ang i-grab, kaya hindi na ako choosy,” he said.
Ogie was also told to rest at the center for 15 minutes just in case he would experience any side effects.
Julius and Christine Babao
The celebrity couple received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on April 8.
On Christine’s Instagram, she tried to answer frequently asked questions about the vaccination process.
“The best vaccine is what’s available. Take it. For our peace of mind. Added protection. For those who are asking: The vaccine is FREE. Wala pong bayad ito. Hindi rin po masakit. At all. Parang kagat lang ng langgam. Did we feel any side fx after? Wala po,” she wrote.
She also mentioned that she and Julius were given the vaccine because they are part of the priority group A3 or persons with comorbidities.
Alice Dixson
The veteran actress received her first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in Canada. On social media, she shared her plans of taking her second dose in the Philippines.
“May alam ba kayo na Pfizer? Please let me know kasi yun ang kailangan ko sa 2nd vaccination dose ko,” she asked her followers.
Currently, local government units are administering vaccines to healthcare personnel, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities.
Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said more than four million doses of COVID-19 vaccines are expected in May. If the vaccines arrive on time, vaccination for frontline personnel in essential sectors and the indigent population can start next month.
