A photo of two young kids going to a thrift store to buy a birthday gift for their mom has gone viral, as the sweet gesture melted netizens’ hearts.
Netizen and shop owner Sarah Alexandrea Daculap shared in a Facebook post that she was surprised to see two young boys coming into her store and started picking out clothes at the women’s section.
“Nakakatuwa yong umaga ko! Habang nag-aantay ng customer may dalawang batang lalaki na pumasok sa store nmin, tapos napansin ko sa mga damit pambabae sila pumipili, so nag taka ako,” Daculap shared in a now-viral Facebook post.
She then went on to approach the kids and asked what they were looking for.
The boys pointed at the women’s clothes section and told the shop owner that it was a gift for their mom.
“Para po sa mama namin! Birthday nya po kasi ngayon,” Daculap quoted the boys in her Facebook post.
Touched by the young boys’ effort, Daculap helped them choose a dress fit for their 100 peso bill.
“Nakakatuwa! Apaka sweet na mga anak,” said Daculap.
The birthday celebrant turned out to be Facebook user Meilyn Caca who took pride and thanked the boys — his son Satsat and nephew Jayjay for being “super sweet”.
