Xyriel Manabat left a strong message on social media after receiving lewd and inappropriate comments on her recent photos on Instagram.
The former child actress made headlines over the week after speaking out against netizens who put malice to her OOTD photos.
In an interview with ABS-CBN TV writer Darla Sauler, Xyriel addressed the “below the belt comments” saying: “Hindi po ako na-fla-flatter sa ibang comments kasi yung iba po below-the-belt and sana alam nila and aware po yung mga tao na sexual harassment is never OK po. Hindi po siya fine.”
On Wednesday, Xyriel reiterated that clothing can never be an excuse for sexual harassment.
“I will express myself and show my confidence in my own way and I don’t see anything wrong with that,” wrote Xyriel in capital letters in an Instagram post along with several photos of her dressed in different clothes.
She added: “Bastat wala po kong tinatapakang kapwa/karapatang pantao malaya po ko magpost ng makakaaware at makakainspire sa iba. Embrace your body, appreciate others.”
Xyriel also stressed: “Stop normalizing filthy and dirty mindset po. No one has the right to sexual harass anyone!”
Xyriel rose to popularity after starring in several ABS-CBN’s television series such as Agua Bendita, Momay and 100 Days to Heaven when she was a child.
She took a break from showbiz to focus on her studies. She graduated from high school last July.
