Days after Sarah Balabagan made the revelation that Arnold Clavio is the father of her eldest child, the former OFW bared more about the Kapuso newscaster’s relationship with her daughter.
In Ben Tulfo’s investigative program Bitag, Sarah, who is now a US-based radio announcer and immigrants issues advocate, said that her daughter does not have direct communication with her father.
“Wala silang direct communication kay Arnold dahil ayaw ibigay ni Arnold yung number niya,” she claimed.
According to Sarah, her daughter’s requests go through Arnold’s family before they can relay them to him.
“Kung gusto naman nila magkita, mag request yung anak ko na gusto niya makita si Arnold, yun ganun rin po pinapaalam namin sa kanila and then magkita yung mag ama po,” she said.
The daughter, who is now 21 years old and working in the States after being petitioned by Sarah’s husband, was allegedly told by the veteran broadcast journalist that he will be imprisoned if his identity was revealed.
“Sinabihan siya ni Arnold, ‘Ang mama mo kapag nagsabi sa public, makukulong ako ngayon.’ So ngayon yung anak ko, nasa kanya yung simpatya kaya ayaw ng anak ko magsalita ako,” she said.
Sarah said that she was only 17 when she conceived their child. “Kaya alam ni Arnold na kapag nag-reklamo ako o nag-open ako sa media, at inamin ko siya ang ama, alam niya may kalalagyan siya.”
When asked by the show’s host how is the relationship between her daughter and Arnold, Sarah said that they rarely see each other, though she thinks it’s “okay naman po.”
She added, however, that she could feel her daughter was longing for her father.
Sarah recounted a memory when she was unable to attend her daughter’s high school graduation.
“Hindi niya binigay sa akin yung invitation for the parents nung school kasi iniisip niya siguro na ‘pag di ako pumunta, pupunta yung tatay niya, eh hindi naman talaga pupunta yung tatay niya,” she shared.
Sarah said she is leaving the decision to Arnold to publicly admit he is the father of her daughter.
“Kung magsalita, aminin ni Arnold… wala na po akong ano basta importante kumbaga naipasa ko na yung burden sa kanya. Nasa kanya na yun kung aaminin na niya. ‘Wag niya lang idedeny. ‘Pag idedeny niya, ibang usapan na yun.”
Sarah challenged Arnold to finally face their issue. “Magpaka-lalake na siya, 22 years na yung binigay kong pagkakataon sa kanya. I hope and pray na ready siya, prepared na siya, na darating ang araw, mangyayari’t mangyayari ‘to.”
During the interview, she also addressed those questioning her intention for speaking up on the matter only now and alleging her revelation as politically-motivated.

On August 24, Sarah admitted after years of speculation that Arnold is the father of her eldest child in response to a viral post on social media that brought up her involvement with him.
As of writing, the veteran journalist has not released a statement on the issue.
