Japanese heartthrob Kentaro Sakaguchi has announced that he is now married to his non-showbiz partner.
The 35-year-old actor shared the news through his fan platform, revealing that he had tied the knot with a non-celebrity woman he had been dating. He did not disclose her identity or provide further details about their relationship.
Sakaguchi’s agency also reportedly confirmed his marriage to Japanese media.
“Although it is a personal matter, I have decided to marry the non-celebrity woman I have been dating,” Sakaguchi said, as quoted by The Chosun Daily.
“As an actor, I will continue to strive even more moving forward,” he added, assuring fans that he intends to remain active in the entertainment industry following his marriage.
The announcement comes about a year after Sakaguchi was embroiled in a dating controversy involving an older hairstylist.
Japanese outlet Shukan Bunshun previously alleged that the hairstylist had been living with the actor at his Tokyo apartment and that the two had been in a relationship for several years.
The outlet later published reports claiming that Sakaguchi had also been linked to Japanese actress Mei Nagano during the period of his alleged relationship with the hairstylist.
Sakaguchi and Nagano have worked together on several projects and have both served as ambassadors for a well-known fashion brand.
At the time, Nagano was likewise the subject of separate reports involving an alleged relationship with a married man.
Sakaguchi has appeared in numerous television series and films, including “What Comes After Love” (2024), “Beyond Goodbye” (2024), “Hell Dogs” (2022), “The Last 10 Years” (2022), and the Japanese remake of the South Korean drama “Signal” (2018).
The actor last visited the Philippines in May 2025 for a fan meeting as part of his Asia tour.
