After years of keeping her personal life private, Philippine volleyball star Alyssa Valdez has officially hard-launched her relationship with businessman Ian Umali.
The Creamline Cool Smashers captain introduced Ian as her boyfriend in an Instagram video from their joint birthday celebration, marking the first time she publicly confirmed their romance.
The heartwarming reel also hinted at the couple’s future plans. In the video, Ian shared that they have been discussing “something big” for Alyssa’s future.
“We just had meetings about it this year, ‘di ba? So, we’re planning something big, something to organize and be intentional about what she wants to do in the future,” Ian said before giving Alyssa a kiss on the cheek.
The post also featured playful well-wishes from celebrity friends, with Samantha Bernardo jokingly manifesting a “proposal,” while Angelica Panganiban teased about a ring she could wear every day.
Umali has been a familiar face courtside at Valdez’s Creamline matches in the Premier Volleyball League and also supported the volleyball icon during her stint with the Philippine national team in the 2026 AVC Women’s Cup.
Alyssa, who celebrated her 33rd birthday on June 29, is set to return to action with the Creamline Cool Smashers for the 2026 PVL season.
