Hajji’s Alejandro’s girlfriend, Alynna Vasquez, reflected on the final days she spent with the late OPM icon who passed away a day before their anniversary.
In a social media post, Alynna expressed deep gratitude to his children for allowing her to be by his side on his final days.
“We spent the last 8 days of your life together. I am grateful to your kids Ali and Rachel for reaching out to me. I have been waiting. I think of you every hour of every day,” wrote Alynna.
According to Alynna, Hajji battled Stage 4 metastatic colon cancer and chose to stay at home under palliative care, surrounded by loved ones.
“You refused another trip to the hospital and chose palliative care instead, in the comforts of your home, in the company of people you love. You knew you were leaving us soon,” said Alynna.
Despite Hajji’s physical decline and pain, he showed love and tenderness, shared Alynna.
“We listened to our favorite songs and we both had tears in our eyes. Your precious voice has been impaired because CA had constricted your respiratory system as well.
“But I felt your love even without words. And despite the pain, restlessness and hallucinations, you tried to hold my hand… I whispered in your ear[,]”Go with God. I love you so much. See you in my dreams. No more pain, love. Just pure bliss with our Heavenly Father,” he added.
In his final hours on April 21, 2025, Hajji accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. The following day, April 22, marked what would have been their 27th anniversary.
Alynna, Hajji’s longtime partner of 27 years, earlier revealed in a March interview with Julius Babao that she chose to leave the veteran singer’s Antipolo home after a disagreement with his family.
She felt that Hajji’s children preferred to personally care for him and acknowledged that as his girlfriend—not his wife—the family had the rightful priority.
Although she was hurt, she respected their wishes and decided to step back, especially since a private nurse had been hired.
Alynna emphasized that her departure was her own decision and came from a place of love, wanting to avoid further conflict.
