San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora has reacted to rumors about a special relationship between his daughter, rising actress Amanda Zamora, and Kapamilya actor-singer Daniel Padilla.
Speaking with the entertainment press recently, Mayor Zamora addressed rumors about Amanda allegedly dating Daniel during an event in San Juan.
“Yes, ang aking anak nga po ay nali-link kay Daniel Padilla. So bilang isang ama, gusto ko pong sabihin sa inyong lahat na hindi po totoo ’yan,” the mayor stated in the interview.
“Si Amanda, my daughter, and Daniel are not linked in anyway,” he added.
“To set the record straight, hindi po si Amanda at saka si Daniel Padilla, wala pong katotohanan ’yan. At kung mayroon mang mga tao na nagsasabi na sila, eh ako na po ang nagsasabi na hindi po ’yan totoo,” Zamora explained.
He emphasized that despite Amanda’s rising popularity in showbiz following her stint as a housemate on Pinoy Big Brother (PBB): Connect in 2021, he would not allow her to be linked to unfounded speculations.
“I’m aware that there are some showbiz personalities who are trying to link them, pero hindi po totoo ’yan, wala pong katotohanan ’yan,” the mayor added.
Regarding the photos allegedly showing Daniel and Amanda walking together, Mayor Zamora dismissed them, asserting, “Definitely hindi ko po anak yun, kung sakaling may mga viral photos.”
He also agreed that the photos could have been edited to falsely connect Amanda with Daniel.
“Si Amanda has been single all her life so hindi po totoo yan,” the mayor assured.
“In fact, I’m surprised as a father. At her age, single pa rin siya kasi ano, e, very independent-minded and marami siyang gusto gawin sa buhay,” Zamora described her daughter.
Updating the public on Amanda’s whereabouts, Zamora revealed that she is currently in the United States, making it more impossible for her to be the woman seen with Daniel in the circulating photos.
“She’s 23 years old. She’s now focused on her studies kasi siya po ay, in fact, nasa Amerika po ngayon,” he revealed.
In a PEP report, the politician shared Amanda is set to begin her Master’s degree in Marketing at a U.S. university in September.
Amanda has previously dismissed the said rumors on her Instagram account.
On her Instagram story, Zamora expressed her frustration over the unfounded speculations, writing, “I kindly ask everyone to stop spreading baseless rumors and fake news where I am in no way associated with.”
She also took the opportunity to urge the public to be kind in words and “practice discernment especially online.
“May we be kinder in words towards one another and practice discernment, especially on the internet. Thank you,” her plea read.
As of writing, Daniel has yet to confirm nor deny the rumors.
