Andi Eigenmann elicited mixed comments after her reaction to fans’ photo opportunity requests went viral on social media.
A Facebook user recently uploaded a video of the former actress based in Siargao, granting photo requests at her surf shop and cafe.
Andi was seen telling fans if they could make the photo-ops quick as she was in a rush to leave. However, one fan was told off to wait for his turn after he hurriedly tried to take a photo with the celebrity mom when she was still taking a photo with another fan.
“Maybe you could wait your turn at least, sir,” she politely told the fan.
To which the fan responded “opo” and eventually scored the photo-op with the actress.
The video, however, drew mixed reactions from social media users with some criticizing her for her way of telling the fan to wait.
The video uploader wrote as published, “Papapicture sana ako pero wag na lang video na lang hehehe.”
One commented, “Wow! Medyo suplada pala sis ganda!.”
“Suplada naman,” said another.
A lot more, meanwhile, commended and defended Andi for still taking a little of her time to acknowledge the photo-ops even though she was in a hurry to leave.
“Walang disrespect po dyan. She was kind to accommodate her fans kahit may errand pa sya, and she was just being straightforward. She even said Sir. Calling out a fan that can’t wait for his turn is not showing a bad attitude,” said one.
“She is no longer in showbiz. She has a lot of things to do for a living, a busy mother, buti nga’t pumapayag pa siyang magpa-picture kahit sandali,” another added.
Talent manager and host Ogie Diaz also has a say on the matter:
“Noon pa man sinabi na ni Andi na hindi na siya nag-artista na. Pangalawa, meron mga sumisilip sa bahay nila, parang konting respeto naman. Nandun siya sa kanyang privacy tapos bubulabugin siya. Actually ako, intinding intindi ko si Andi,” he stated in his Showbiz Update Youtube channel.
“Pero in fairness naman kay Andi, nung turn na niya, all smiles pa rin si Andi,” Ogie’s co-host Mama Loi said.
“Maraming paraan para makalapit tayo sa artista na hindi natin sila nababastos, na hindi tayo lumalagpas sa linya,” Ogie reminded fans.
Andi revealed in 2017 that she left the showbiz industry to be a full-time mom and live her life away from the city spotlight. This was after a netizen accused her of being “masungit” when she declined to take a photo with a fan.
