Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz put the heat on the stage of Binibing Pilipinas 2024 as she once again asked her pressure-inducing questions during the Q&A portion, making candidates falter and skip a beat.
In a recent viral Tiktok video, candidate No. 13 Roella Frias Solis was the one who had to answer the question from the country’s first Miss Universe queen in the recently concluded Top 15 Q&A portion of the national pageant.

During her turn, Diaz asked her: “What physical asset do you have that should make you win?”
Frias then responded with confidence, “As a beauty queen and as a woman of vision, I am here to present you the best version of myself despite having a pivotal loss.”
Then she elaborated by mentioning her grandmother’s recent death, saying, “She has the best seat in heaven, watching me over. Thank you!” veering off from Diaz’s initial question.
With the question left unanswered, Diaz once again asked the candidate even after she already concluded her answer.
“What physical asset I have is that I am beautiful. Aside from that, I have a mission and vision in life that makes me apart from the other candidates,” Frias responded, trying to recover from her initial answer.
After the said Q&A, the hosts even commented how Diaz would ask show-stopping questions, affirming the pressure it has caused to certain candidates.
In an interview with TV Patrol, the beauty queen said, “Mahirap ba ‘ yon? Ang dali dali lang [ng tanong],” when she was told that fans and audience members regard her as someone who gives hard questions.
Being in the same frame as her during the interview, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach retorted that sometimes the simplest questions are the hardest to answer.
Some of the hosts agreed with this perception with Miss Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves saying, “Totoo! Walang nakakalampas kay Gloria Diaz, parang nakakatakot siya and intimidating pero queen na queen talaga siya e.”
“I agree, she is intimidating talaga atsaka pinapa-lit niya yung mga questions. So it’s so hard!,” Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza seconded.
The Binibining Pilipinas also celebrated its 60th anniversary during the recent coronation night.
