A week after British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran’s concert in the Philippines, let’s look back at how loud Pinoy Sheerios were while singing their favorite song during his Mathematics Tour last Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque.
In a video uploaded on social media, fans sing their hearts out as the award-winning singer performs his 2014 hit song “Thinking Out Loud.”
“We were loud pala? We did it Sheerios!” a fan said.
“Goosebumps! One best experience to hear Ed sing & see him up close! Encore!!!!!” another one said.
Sheeran’s concert in the Philippines marked his 100th show in his + – = ÷ x Tour since he started in 2022.
Sheeran serenaded his fans with almost everything in his Mathematics Album, including “Blow,” “Shivers,” “Castle on the Hill,” “Don’t,” “Lego House,” “Eyes Closed,” “Give Me Love,” “Dive,” “American Town,” “Overpass Graffiti,” “Galway Girl,” “Sing,” “Photograph,” “Tenerife Sea,” “Happier,” “Perfect,” “Bloodstream,” and “Afterglow.”
He also covered songs he wrote and collaborated with other artists such as “Love Yourself,” “Beautiful People,” “South of the Border,” and “I Don’t Care.”
Sheeran expressed gratitude to his fans as he promised to be back soon.
“I do not take this for granted. I really know that you could be doing anything on Saturday night, but you take time to sit in traffic to get all the way here, and sit in traffic to all the way back. People have flown in, live in hotels (as) not everyone is from Manila. I just wanna say thank you for taking your time to watch me play. I’m really, really glad to be back in the Philippines. I won’t leave it at seven years next time, I promise,” he said.
Sheeran ended his two-in-a-half concert with hits “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You,” “Shape of You,” and “Bad Habits,” treating his fans with fireworks to cap off his comeback concert.
