Sharon Cuneta will be gracing the official launch of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon and other Dabarkads’ first show on TV5.
The Megastar made the announcement on Instagram, sharing the teaser video of TVJ’s switch to the network.
“See you at Eat Bulaga’s Big Comeback on July 1,” wrote the Sharon alongside the hashtag #legitdabarkads.
The actress paid tribute to Tito Sotto, whom she calls her second father, and Joey De Leon for helping her make a name in the showbiz industry.
Sharon is known to have close ties with Tito Sotto who’s wife Helen Gamboa is the sister of the former’s late mom Elaine Gamboa.
“Without my Daddy Tito Sotto who discovered me,I never would have become a singer or (more importantly) have had a second father; without Tito Joey De Leon I never would have had memorable hits after Mr. D.J. as well, or a first co-host on my own The Sharon Cuneta Show from 1986 on IBC 13 until around 1988 on ABS-CBN,” wrote Sharon as she recalled visiting the noontime show since she was still a student.
“I have a 44-year history with eat-bulaga — I used to appear there regularly starting in their first home, RPN 9, in my St. Paul uniform without makeup! As much as I love my ABS-CBN Kapamilya, I could NEVER NOT give importance to my eat-bulaga family.”
In the comments section, a netizen asked: “I’m confused. Are you still with ABS-CBN?”
Sharon reiterated she’s still a Kapamilya, at the same time, called Eat Bulaga her family.
“My home station ABS-CBN has known and respected this since I joined it in 1988.Wala pang legit dabarkads o si @iceseguerra sa Little Miss Philippines sa eat-bulaga noon,ako na ang baby nila! And I will be there for them whenever they call me. It’s PAYBACK TIME, which is how it forever will be for me towards eat-bulaga!No one can ever put a beloved institution down,” she stated in her Instagram post.
Following their departtue from producer TAPE, Inc. last May 31, TVJ and other Dabarkads, are set to make their comeback on TV5 on Saturday, July 1, with the name of the show yet to be revealed.
