Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto surely got the sense of humor of his comedian-TV host father Vic Sotto after bringing good vibes with his reaction to the idea of him getting married.
A video of Vico has gone viral where he recalled the moment he phoned his dad to inform him of his decision to run for mayor, during his Giting ng Pasig team’s meeting with a community.
“Nagulat si papa nung napatawag ako, ‘Oh Vico napatawag ka’. ‘Pa, nakapag-desisyon na ako,” the younger Sotto was filmed saying in the video uploaded by a certain @acberdin on TikTok.
As Vico was about to continue his story, a netizen interrupted and suggested, “mag-aasawa na”.
Vico, who has been evasive about his love life, quickly shunned the idea, saying, “Hindi, hindi pa ako mag-aasawa. Iba yun, iba yun.”
“Tatakbo pa lang ng mayor. Mga next year pa ‘yun,” the young politico added, drawing cheers from the residents.
Supporters also had a good laugh when the uploader joked, “Waaah, ready na ‘ko!”. receiving a hilarious response from Vico: “Ate, wag kang magulo.”
The said video has now garnered over one million views, as of writing.
Mayor Vico, who is seeking re-election in the May 2022 polls, is running against incumbent Pasig City Vice Mayor Iyo Caruncho-Bernardo.
