Jasmine Curtis-Smith took to Instagram to encourage Filipinos to register to vote.
The Filipino-Australian actress posted a photo of her purple-inked thumbs and a slip confirming her vote registration on Instagram last September 27.
“It’s been six years since I ‘suddenly’ moved back to Manila, I finally registered to vote. For those who haven’t yet done so, registration is until September 30. Habol naaaaa. Let’s use our voices, rights and power as citizens for the better of our country,” she said.
According to the Commission on Elections, as of September 21, the number of applications processed nationwide stands at 2,645,446. Voter registration began on August 1 and ended last Monday, September 30.
