Jessy Mendiola together with husband Luis Manzano recently responded to mean comments about them online to mark the TV host-actor’s 40th birthday.
In a vlog uploaded on Jessy’s YouTube channel, the actress reiterated that she did not steal Luis from anyone, in response to a netizen who called her “mang-aagaw”. To recall, Luis dated Angel Locsin before Jessy came into his life.
“I’ve been setting this record straight over and over again. As in, like I’ve been telling everyone about this. I will clear it again now but I will not speak about this again ever. Wala akong inaagaw. Mas nakakatulog ako sa gabi na alam ko ‘yung totoo,” said Jessy.
Aside from the “mang-aagaw” tag, Jessy also debunked the same netizen’s accusation that she’s a “gold digger,” stating that she started working at a young age and that helped her to become financially independent.
“I would like to think na magaling din ako sa sarili kong pera. That’s the reason I still work in my own little way na nakakapag-ipon ako. So, hindi rin ako talaga umaasa kay Luis when it comes to money.”
Luis, on the other hand, commented in jest, “Ang hindi niya alam pera niya ang habol ko. Yun ang hindi alam ng mga tao.”
Luis previously defended Jessy from a netizen who questioned her financial capability to buy a luxury watch.
The celebrity couple surprised followers when they revealed earlier this month that they already tied the knot last February 26.
