Wilbert previously expressed his excitement over the project in an October 15 post, writing, “Same feeling nung GSOT. Same hunch,” accompanied by a hopeful emoji.
In an interview with Philippine STAR’s Real Talk with Nathalie Tomada, Wilbert acknowledged the magnitude of the project, noting that the original Thai film remains the country’s highest-grossing movie of all time.
“Masaya kami kasi sa amin binigay, sa amin ipinagkatiwala ‘yung project na ganito kalaki,” he said.
Bea, meanwhile, assured audiences that despite being an adaptation, the film would retain a distinctly Filipino identity.
“Rest assured that when you watch it, you will really feel and see that, oh, it’s so Filipino,” he said.
The two also expressed excitement over the original Thai stars’ awareness of the Philippine adaptation, saying the actors had seen its trailer and teaser.
“It’s nice to know that they know that we exist. Kasi diba, syempre, they’re such big stars also in Thailand.
“It’s such an honor na alam nilang merong “Pee Mak” Philippine version.
