Macoy Dubs has said in an interview that he and Joy Barcoma are “on good terms” following the beauty queen’s exit from “Dogshow Divas.”
Mark Averilla, popularly known as Macoy Dubs, addressed speculations surrounding Joy’s departure from his and Baus Rufo’s podcast, “Dogshow Divas.”
On Aug. 31, the Miss Philippines Earth 2025 titleholder announced her decision to leave the podcast in a social media post.
Barcoma said she chose to prioritize her peace over dealing with negativity, explaining that she decided to remove herself from “a space where she no longer felt welcomed, respected, and protected.”
In an exclusive interview with Philippine STAR’s Dolly Anne Carvajal, Macoy addressed the issues that surfaced following Barcoma’s departure.
“I am sad that Joy is quitting ‘Dogshow Divas,’ but of course, as one of the executive producers, I wish her well on her next chapter,” he told STAR.
The host also clarified that he remains on good terms with Barcoma and expressed his openness to working with her again in the future.
“Joy and I are on good terms, and I look forward to working with her in the future, be it podcast-related or not,” he added.
Macoy also dismissed speculations that he felt threatened by Barcoma’s presence on the podcast.
“To be honest, I never felt threatened by Joy. I know my place in the podcast, and I am welcoming to others,” he said.
He likewise expressed his appreciation for Barcoma, particularly during a period when his busy schedule kept him from being as involved in the podcast.
“I really appreciate Joy as well kasi nandun siya when I became busy. I am grateful to her,” Macoy said.
Addressing those who criticized Barcoma or fueled speculation about her departure, Macoy called for kindness and understanding online.
“To the bashers, I hope we can be more kind online and be mindful of our comments. The podcast is there to make our lives lighter. So, we can laugh more,” he said.
“With all the happenings right now, all we need is kindness, understanding, and not hate,” he added.
