Fans were abuzz after 1Z Entertainment dropped cryptic teasers about an incoming “wave of energy” just months after opening auditions for trainees, fueling speculations that the agency is gearing up for a new group.
On Wednesday night, April 1, the company—owned by P-pop powerhouse SB19—shared an intriguing post featuring a red poster that read, “TABI! Paparating na kami!” along with the hashtag #1ZGroupA. The teaser also included a striking image of a pair of eyes set against a red background.
As the post went live on April Fool’s Day, the agency was quick to clarify that it was not a prank, writing: “This is NOT an APRIL FOOLS’ PRANK. A wave of energy is about to hit. They’re taking over before you notice it.”
The poster appeared to have been pasted on a blank wall by a short-haired figure. It also featured a QR code that leads to an Instagram account named “1Z_groupa,” further fueling speculation that 1Z Entertainment is gearing up to launch a new group.
Back in 2024, members of SB19 expressed their intent to debut their first girl group. In early January this year, their agency opened auditions for aspiring trainees of all genders and ethnicities aged 15 to 23.
Meanwhile, SB19 recently released their latest album, Wakas at Simula, on March 27. The 24-track project features songs such as “Visa,” “DUNGKA!,” and updated versions of hits “Mapa,” “Gento,” and “Bazinga.”
Following the release, the group also achieved new milestones, becoming the first P-pop act included in the lineup of global music festivals Lollapalooza 2026, set in Chicago, U.S., from July 30 to August 2, 2026, and Summer Sonic Japan in Tokyo, Japan, on August 15, 2026.
