Richard Gutierrez and Barbie Imperial have finally put an end to months of speculation, confirming that they are indeed in a relationship.
The pair made the revelation in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN during the project announcement of their upcoming action-drama series, “Blood vs Duty.”
After being repeatedly spotted together and dodging direct questions about their real score, the pair chose this moment to speak openly about their relationship.
Barbie explained that their decision to stay quiet in the past was never about hiding.
“Can I just say that we weren’t hiding, we just choose to have a private relationship talaga, [because] we know na ayaw namin ng, even I, what people don’t know they can’t ruin,” she said, as quoted by the news outlet.
Richard echoed the same sentiment, sharing that their agreement to stay private was mutual from the very beginning.
“I agree from the beginning, ganun talaga. We want to keep things private. Mas relaxed yung ganun, mas gusto namin yung ganun,” he added.
As for finally confirming their status, Barbie referenced a previous interview Richard had with showbiz insider Ogie Diaz. “Sabi nga niya [Richard] sa isang interview ni Tito Ogie [Diaz], what you see is what you get? Yeah, ‘yun na ‘yun,” she affirmed.
In the same interview, Richard maintained that Barbie had no involvement in his separation from his estranged wife, Sarah Lahbati.
