A wave of Filipinos, joined by celebrities and public figures, filled the streets of Manila over the weekend for massive anti-corruption rallies.
Dubbed as “Baha sa Luneta” and the “Trillion Peso March,” the protests demanded accountability from government officials and stronger action against systemic corruption.
Actress Maris Racal was among the first spotted at the demonstrations, with photos and videos of her leading chants circulating online. Using a megaphone, Racal led a crowd with the words: “Serbisyo sa tao, huwag gawing negosyo.”
The “Sunshine” star also shared photos on Instagram holding placards that read “Lahat ng korap dapat managot” and “Filipinos deserve better.”
Vice Ganda and his partner Ion Perez joined the Trillion Peso March in Quezon City alongside the Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network.
Onstage, the comedian delivered a fiery speech, directly condemning corruption in government projects, particularly in flood control programs. He even dared President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to imprison all corrupt officials and urged for the reinstatement of the death penalty for politicians found guilty of plunder.
Joining Vice were sisters Anne and Jasmine Curtis, actors Donny Pangilinan and Darren Espanto who also lent their voices to the movement, marching with youth groups and volunteers.
Meanwhile, actor Elijah Canlas slammed politicians, contractors and so-called “nepo babies” for flaunting wealth while Filipinos suffer from flooding and joblessness.
Award-winning veteran journalist Jessica Soho was spotted covering the rallies at Luneta Park and EDSA Shrine, earning praise from netizens for her recent investigative episodes of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” that exposed corruption in government projects.
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray made a striking appearance in pink while carrying the Philippine flag in solidarity with Filipinos seeking accountability.
Actress Julia Barretto, joined by her mother Marjorie and brother Leon, was lauded for balancing her protest participation with a gala appearance later in the day, with netizens dubbing her the “Patron Saint of Time Management.”
Ex-Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemates Mika Salamanca, Dustin Yu, Ralph de Leon and KD Estrada posted about their attendance.

Internet sensations Sassa Gurl and Stella Salle went viral for their unfiltered, expletive-filled expressions of protest.
Actresses Nadine Lustre, Jodi Sta. Maria, Angel Aquino, Iza Calzado, Aya Fernandez and Andrea Brillantes were also among those seen at the rallies.
