Inamin ni Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo na muntik na siya umanong mag-quit sa kalagitnaan ng kanyang Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) journey.
Sa interview ni Chelsea sa programang “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” nabanggit niya na nagkaroon siya ng financial struggles.

“I was at the verge of quitting na po, dahil we have to face it, medyo matagal ‘yung competition this time. Inabot siya ng four months. Ako po, I came in here as an independent, wala akong resources, financial. So [darating] talaga sa point na mauubos ka, and I was almost there to quit,” pahayag ng beauty queen.
“Magastos siya, kasi ako, I come back and forth to Bulacan. Siguro ‘yung transportation, the dress, the makeup, everything you have to provide it on your own. I had [a glam team]. Actually, sila ‘yung mga nag-support sakin when I almost gave up, they were there to support me,” dagdag pa nito.
“Dumating din sa point na I had to go and find a dress sa mga online selling [para makamura],” pagpapatuloy pa niya.
Ayon kay Chelsea, naitawid niya umano ang kanyang financial struggles dahil din sa support na ibinigay ng local government unit ng Bulacan.
“Because of the government, ‘yung sa governor po namin sa Bulacan, and all the other local government units when dumating na po do’n sa point na I had to really reach out to them,” pahayag niya.
“Dahil meron naman pong kakaunting nabibigay sa’kin, ’yun po ’yung pinagsasama-sama lang namin just so that we can have a little food, para po maitawid ko ’yung outfits ko,” kwento ni Chelsea.
Matatandaan na kinoronahan si Chelsea bilang Miss Universe Philippines 2024 nito lamang May 22.
Nakatakda nitong i-represent ang Pilipinas sa gaganapin na 73rd Miss Universe pageant sa Mexico.
