On the United States’ election day, Broadway icon Lea Salonga expressed her support for presidential bet Joe Biden with their photo during the 2017 Tony Awards.
Salonga took to social media to share her photos with the presidential candidate.
“Whatever happens, we’re with you, Joe! Such a privilege to meet you at the Tonys,” she wrote as the caption.
Prior to her post, the veteran singer has been open with her U.S. presidential bet.
In a social media post five years ago, Lea corrected an article which stated she was a Filipino-American. She clarified that she is a Filipino and a green card holder which means she is allowed to live and work permanently in the U.S.
“Technically I’m not a Filipino-American (only Filipino, and a green card holder; I’ve not yet acquire a US passport), but given the illustrious people on this list, I don’t mind the monicker,” she wrote.
As of writing, Biden leads with 126 electoral votes while Donald Trump has 89 electoral votes.
