Heartbroken netizens briefly took to social media to express their shock and grief, and reminisce on unforgettable memories and experiences in one of the Filipinos’ favorite hangout places.

Fans of Manila’s well-known theme park shared before and after photos of the tragedy that struck the place, sharing how thankful they were for the memories it brought them.

Some also became nostalgic as one of Manila’s happiest places also became a big part of their childhood.

The theme park which brought excitement and smiles to many was also a go-to place for people who want to celebrate and hold special occasions. Star City became “a thing” for field trips and the Christmas season.

Authorities are eyeing electrical overload and possible arson likely caused the fire, a Star report said.

Around the same time, a cryptic tweet posted three days before the fire which read “Star City is dying” caused a stir on social media.

However, the certain “12Designs” Twitter user later on deleted his post to stop netizens from thinking that he had predicted the misfortune. He also cleared that the Star City he was referring to was from a TV series.

Due to the huge damage from the fire, the amusement park will be temporarily closed and estimated to reopen in October 2020 after repairs and reconstruction.

It may be farewell for now, but young and old people eagerly look forward to seeing Star City light up again.
