Lyca Gairanod pushed back at online critics questioning her political beliefs amid her resurfaced social media posts supposedly showing her support for certain political colors.
The “The Voice Kids Philippines” Season 1 winner found herself under the spotlight once again after her song “Puede nang Mangarap” went viral 11 years after its release.
However, her renewed popularity also sparked discussions over her political views after netizens resurfaced her past social media activity, which some interpreted as showing support for certain political groups.
Gairanod initially responded to a netizen who commented on one of her TikTok posts.
“Lyca mahal ka na namin basta no to 💚❤️ na ha? HAHAHAHAHAHA,” the netizen wrote.
“Wala akong kailangan patunayan sa inyo. I worked hard for my family. Please don’t take it personally, love u y’all 🖤,” she replied.
During a recent TikTok live, Lyca faced similar questions from viewers, including one who brought up her appearance at a UniTeam rally during the 2022 national elections.
The singer then firmly clarified that she does not consider herself aligned with any political group, stressing that she does not trust politics at all.
“Bakit niyo ba ako pinapakialamanan? Hindi ako… ayoko kasing sabihin ‘yung mga names eh. Wala akong pinaniniwalaan in politics. That’s it. Wala akong tiwala sa politics,” she said.
