Kapamilya star Belle Mariano gets real and candid as she played red flag or green flag with the Philippine STAR during the recently concluded She Slays 2025: Girlcoded Convention at the Concourse, One Ayala in Makati last March 29, 2025.
Belle shared her wisdom as she gave pieces of advice in life when asked about her stand in different situations.
For Belle, saying yes to an opportunity even if she’s not 100% ready is both a red and green flag.
“I mean, it’s good that sometimes we put ourselves in situations that we’re uncomfortable. Because that’s a green flag for me because it allows us to grow. Pero naman, if you’re really unsure about it, why would you do something that you doubt yourself, right? But it’s good for me siguro. Baka in between ako. It’s both good and it’s nice that we test our limits and we get out of our box, you know?” she explained.
Belle also pointed out the importance of working in silence instead of proving your worth to doubters.
“Green flag. Of course, I think parang by the end of the day, we seek our identities, and we seek validation within ourselves and through our faith and through you guys, our supporters. So these doubters and these people who really don’t matter. Like, you take their criticism as something that would help you grow. Pero that you don’t have to prove anything to them because you know who you are,” she stressed.
Adding, “Don’t let them hinder you from growing. And don’t let them hinder you from achieving whatever it is you want. And whatever is destined for you. Because it’s your story to tell and it’s not theirs.”
The crowd went wild after Belle revealed her thoughts in love and relationships.
When asked what she thinks when a person is waiting for someone else’s text instead of just saying what they just feel, Belle has a straightforward answer.
“If you wanna say something and it’s really important. Go! Why not? Why will you stop yourself? So, feeling ko wag kana magpabebe!” she said in jest.
“I feel like the key to a good relationship is really communication. So if you communicate well, you’d find that harmony and balance between the both of you. And if you’re just gonna be like, no, I’m fine, even if you’re not fine, you have to be open about it. And that’s the beauty of being in a relationship,” she added.
