OPM singer Klarisse de Guzman officially came out as a bisexual as she opened up about her four-year relationship with her girlfriend to her fellow housemates in Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.
The heartfelt confession happened during the reality show’s Wednesday episode, following a task led by celebrity houseguest Michelle Dee that encouraged housemates to open up about common “misconceptions” about themselves.
Klarisse began by reflecting on her homesickness over the past few days, admitting that she had been thinking a lot about her parents. She shared that cooking for her fellow housemates became her coping mechanism, as she learned the skill from her late father.
She also revealed that she initially hesitated to join PBB, fearing the challenge of opening up and showing her true self to the world.
“Tagal kong pinag-isipan kung sasali ako ng PBB kasi hindi ko alam kung kaya ko i-expose ang buhay ko,” admitted Klarisse. “Obviously, nandito ako, so kinaya ko.”
This then led to her finally confessing about her long-kept secret while surrounded by her housemates, “Tingin ko eto na yung time para sabihin sa inyo lahat, and to tell the world that I’m not straight.
“I am bi [bisexual],” she openly declared, adding that she has been in a long-term relationship with her partner for years.
“Yung kinukuwento ko sa inyo na may four years akong partner, yes, I have a partner for four years. Her name is Trina,” Klarisse disclosed.
“’Di alam ng public pero alam ng parents ko, bago mawala ang papa ko… alam ng mama ko, and kasama ngayon ng mama ko is her [Trina],” she added. “And I guess kumportable na akong sabihin sa inyong lahat, with Michelle Dee pa.”
Klarisse expressed excitement at the thought of her housemates meeting Trina and admitted that she deeply misses her partner, drawing cheers from her listeners.
“Sobrang suwerte ko lang talaga kasi tanggap ako ng parents ko. ‘Di ako nahirapan sa phase na iyon. Even most… some of my relatives alam. But di ko lang nasasabi sa work ko, so I am proud,” concluded Klarisse.
After the episode aired tonight, Klarisse’s girlfriend, Christina Rey, shared a message on social media expressing how proud she is of the singer and assured Klarisse of her constant support out.
“I AM PROUD OF YOU! I’m always here, always! I’ll wait [for] u here sa outside world. Love Wins,” Christine’s post read.
