‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan’ contestant Marco Adobas disqualified after calling competition ‘cooking show’ online

“It’s Showtime” has officially disqualified “Tawag ng Tanghalan (TNT) Grand Resbak” contestant Marco Adobas after he criticized the competition’s results, calling it a “cooking show.”

The controversy erupted after match-up between Marko Rudio and Ayegee Paredes on Wednesday, March 26. Rudio was declared the winner by the panel of judges, composed of Louie Ocampo, Dingdong Avanzado, and Pops Fernandez.

Following the announcement, Adobas took to Facebook to express his disappointment over the results.

“Grabeng cooking show mga boss! Kala ko pagalingan kumanta ‘yung laban. Pasarapan pala ng luto,” his post read.

Responding to a netizen’s comment, he lamented the effort, time, and dedication put into training, particularly from Paredes whom he claimed had returned to the Philippines specifically for the competition.

In response, It’s Showtime issued a statement the following day across their social media pages and live broadcast, announcing Adobas’ disqualification due to violations of his signed agreement with the show.

The show also warned that Adobas’ allegations could face legal consequences.

The incident further prompted the show to bring back a previously eliminated contender to fill Adobas’ spot, announcing Arvery Lagoring from Pangkat Amihan would return to TNT Grand Resbak as his replacement.

During the announcement, host Vice Ganda reminded contestants and viewers about the importance of professionalism and honoring signed agreements.

“Kaya everyone, be very careful.

Meanwhile, Adobas responded to negative comments on his latest Facebook update, revealing that he had already spoken with It’s Showtime management and apologized for his actions. He also admitted that his statements were made in the heat of the moment.

Kaya sana po ay maunawaan niyo na,” the singer commented on his post.
