Nadine Lustre publicly exposed an online basher who posted a vile remark against her on social media.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Lustre shared a screenshot of the offensive comment and called out the individual for their inappropriate behavior.
She captioned the post, “One of the many that did not pass the vibe check.”
The incident drew further attention when Lustre’s partner, Christophe Bariou, also reacted to the hateful remark on his own page.
“Imagine if your girlfriend, wife, sister, mother or daughter were publicly threatened with rape simply for expressing her opinion,” Bariou wrote in his Instagram Story as a question to his followers.
He also included a screenshot of another lewd comment directed at Nadine from the same user with the caption: “So much for Women’s month”.
As of now, the actress has not disclosed whether she plans to take legal action against the individual. However, her post has sparked discussions among netizens about the need for accountability in online interactions along with messages of encouragement from her supporters denouncing the malicious comment and calling for a safer digital space.
“It is appalling how people would casually say r*pe threats towards another person not knowing the implications of their words and actions. I hope Nadine seeks action and sues all of these blind followers,” an X user reacted.
“Nadine should consider filing a case to set an example for aggressively [targeting] artists like her,” wrote another.
“Nadine please do something about this para mabigyan ng leksyon, I know na dedma ka sa mga bashers pero sobra na sila,” suggested one netizen on her Instagram post.
“You are loved Nadine ❤️keep you doing you ‘coz you inspire and make lots of people happy. You also make people think – some raise to the challenge, some are threatened by it. Their loss. Love you Nadz ❤️,” a fan expressed her support for the actress.
