Cristine Reyes appeared to have dismissed rumors of a breakup between her and boyfriend Marco Gumabao after netizens speculated about her silence during the actor’s birthday.
Netizens began to assume about trouble in the couple’s paradise after the actress was silent and nowhere to be seen during the celebration of Marco’s 30th birthday on Wednesday.
The actor’s birthday post on Instagram was accompanied by photos of himself and a concert announcement in celebration of his special day. It also came with a sentimental message expressing his disbelief and joy about turning a year older.
The post, however, intrigued online users who noticed Cristine’s absence. Some fans speculated that she might be busy filming for the Metro Manila Film Festival, while others pointed out that Cristine has deactivated her Instagram account.
This fueled further speculation about the status of their relationship, with some netizens asking if they had broken up.
Shortly after rumors spread online, Cristine recently posted a story on her official Facebook page that featured a sweet photo of her with Marco that came with a loving message about his age.
“Mahal ko yan. 30 na ‘yan siya,” Reyes’ caption read.
In a separate story, Cristine also posted a July 6 photo with her father who was previously hospitalized. In the caption, the actress greeted her dad who is also celebrating his birthday.
“HBD rin sa unang nag-alaga sa’kin. Unang mahal ko. Daddy Matreng! Same [birthday] ng love love ko din ‘yan @gumabaomarco,” wrote Reyes.
