Cebuana beauty queen Shaila Rebortera has announced her engagement to her non-showbiz boyfriend, Luigi Agtoto, the CEO of Cebu-based jeweler Gold Crafts.
Their engagement was revealed on her social media accounts on Wednesday, July 17.
Now a dentist, Rebortera, who holds multiple pageant titles including Miss Multinational Philippines 2021, Miss Millennial Philippines 2018, Reyna ng Aliwan 2018 second runner-up, Sinulog Festival Queen 2018, and Miss Cebu 2016 second runner-up, shared a series of photos from the proposal.
The pictures featured Agtoto on one knee, proposing at the iconic Shibuya Tower in Tokyo, Japan, accompanied by a photo of a bible verse.
In her caption, Rebortera expressed her joy, writing, “I found the one my heart loves,” along with another bible verse.
The couple’s relationship first came to public attention in May when Shaila shared images of her and Luigi, introducing him as her new beau.
This news came nearly a year after a series of personal revelations by Rebortera about her past relationship with Kapuso actor Rob Gomez, with whom he shares one daughter, Amelia.
In August 2023, Shaila made headlines by disclosing that she has a daughter with Rob, who was among the lead stars of GMA Network’s afternoon teleserye, “Magandang Dilag,” alongside Herlene Budol and Bianca Manalo.
This came after Gomez’s claim on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” that he was single.
The situation escalated as Rebortera posted images of her bruised arm on social media, alleging an abusive relationship with Gomez.
In December 2023, the ex-couple was thrust back into the spotlight after his alleged flirtatious exchanges with his former Magandang Dilag leading ladies, Herlene and Bianca, were exposed online.
