Heart Evangelista is proud of fellow Filipina actress Liza Soberano for making her Hollywood film debut in “Lisa Frankenstein”.
Liza recently uploaded photos of her together with co-stars Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse during the Los Angeles special screening of their horror/romantic-comedy film, which took place in Los Angeles last February 5.
The series of photos was accompanied by a lengthy caption where Liza expressed her pride and joy for her milestone in the Hollywood scene.
“I’m so incredibly honored to be around amazing talent and even better human beings! I’m so proud of this wonderfully bonkers film we made that was born out of love for horror/comedy and a passion for story telling,” a part of the actress’ caption read.
Liza also expressed her gratitude for Lisa Frankenstein’s director, Zelda Williams, award-winning writer Diablo Cody, and its production company, Focus Features.
“Words cannot even express how happy I am to be part of your vision @zeldawilliams, thank you for seeing potential in me even when I had doubts. You were the heart of this film and we couldn’t have done it without you,” Soberano wrote.
She continued, “Diablo, thank you for creating the masterpiece that is Lisa Frankenstein I had so much fun entering your quirky little universe.”
She also penned praises and messages for two of her co-stars, Kathryn and Cole.
Meanwhile, praises and congratulatory messages poured from fans and even local celebrities, among them including Heart Evangelista.
Heart left a short but heartfelt comment in Liza’s post.
“Carving out her own path 🔥 This is power! Proud of you Liza :),” Heart began.
The actress, who’s more senior in the industry, praised Liza’s brave decision to start venturing into the Hollywood scene, saying, “[Y]ou went against the flow of the usual norm❤️ the risk of not getting anyone’s approval and still going for what’s in your heart ❤️🔥 go for it!! The spotlight is on YOU for everyone to see !:)”
Lisa Frankenstein is a quirky spin on Mary Shelley’s popular classic novel, “Frankenstein”, which tells the story of a high school student, Lisa Swallows (Kathryn Newton), and a reanimated Victorian corpse (Cole Sprouse) who embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness, and a few missing body parts, according to the film’s synopsis.
Liza plays the role of Taffy, the cheerleader stepsister of Lisa Swallows.
The film is currently showing in local cinemas.
