In the wake of the much-talked-about breakup of Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque, it seems that the controversy is being fueled by the ex-couple’s loved ones and colleagues with cryptic posts and subtle jabs on social media.
An Instagram story posted by Dominic’s brother, Lhean Roque, shared a black-and-white photo of a sheep resting atop a wolf. The caption accompanying the image read, “Wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
It is worth noting that the symbolism of the post is strongly associated with the idiom describing someone who appears “harmless”, like a sheep, but is, in reality, concealing a “fierce and dangerous nature”, much like a wolf in disguise.
Netizens speculate that the post might be directed at Bea, interpreting it as an alleged reference to her character.
The timing of Lhean’s cryptic post coincided with the widespread discussions on social media surrounding another message shared by Bea Alonzo’s road manager, Nina Ferrer, earlier that Tuesday.
Ferrer posted about the meaning of a “manipulative sad boi”, a term seemingly directed towards Dominic.
This led netizens to connect the dots, especially considering previous comments from online users who had noted a “sad boy” demeanor in Dominic’s solo Instagram pictures.
This was then reposted by Bea’s makeup artist, Cristine Duque, with an additional caption: “They should be stopped.”
The news of the celeb couple’s split was confirmed by veteran host Boy Abunda.
The two were supposed to wed later this year, after announcing their engagement last July 2023.
