Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Karen Bordador has spoken up after apparently receiving hate comments when she suddenly replaced Kristel Fulgar as host for South Korean actor Seo In Guk’s fan meet in Manila.
“Forgive them Lord for they do not know what they’re saying,” read the TV host cryptic post on Tuesday, two days after hosting the K-drama star’s fan meet at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
An hour prior to the start of the show last Saturday, August 12, Kristel shocked fans with her last-minute announcement that she would no longer host the event due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
She was later spotted among the audience, taking photos with fans, and showing support for In Guk whom she described as her ultimate idol.

On Wednesday, Kristel finally revealed the reason behind her being pulled out as the show’s host in a YouTube vlog, saying the event’s Korean technical director informed her that she would no longer do the event due to her apparent lack of energy during the rehearsal.
“Nag-eexpect ako na ipapaakyat ulit ako sa stage para mapakita ko ‘yung 100 percent [energy] na sinasabi ko pero hindi daw,” Kristel said of her cancelled hosting gig.
Despite the turn of events, Kristel was granted a one-on-one interaction with the Doom At Your Service star backstage.
After Kristel’s reveal, Karen took to X, formerly Twitter, to hit back at the negative remarks she received which netizens believe were alluding to her hosting gig.
“After receiving mean and baseless IRRATIONAL hate I didn’t deserve…now what? So easy to point fingers but naturally no accountability taken”, she said in a tweet without directly mentioning the incident.
She added, “Damage is done! Karma comes in many forms. Hope you learned something. God bless!”
Some netizens, meanwhile, defended Karen from the criticisms online.
“I knew Karen would get hate for it… but honestly, WHY?!? She did nothing wrong. hindi naman siya yung pumilit na ipalit sa orig host. choice nung prod yun. Baka nga pressure pa kay Karen kasi she only had a short time to prepare,” commented a netizen.
Another one tweeted, “Hoy bakit naman inaaway nyo, nagttrabaho lang si sis.”
One also said, “Tbh di ko rin alam san nanggagaling ang hate kay Ms Karen but aminin niyo man or no, she did her very best that night and mapapabilib ka talaga how she handled the crowd kahit soaper rush na.”
Karen, nevertheless, said she had so much fun and was very honored to host the event.
