Dani Barretto has broken her silence over the notorious cake-smearing video she took of Alex Gonzaga with a waiter, saying it wasn’t her intention to hurt the persons involved.
The social media influencer admitted in an interview with ABS-CBN that she regretted uploading the video which caused ruckus in the online community as netizens called out Alex for her “rude behavior”.
“Of course, I do have regrets kasi nakasakit po ako ng tao. Wala po sa intensiyon ko na makasakit lalo na po on her birthday.
“Siguro yun ang pinakamabigat para sa akin na nakasimula ako ng isang bagay na hindi ko naman ginusto,” Dani said, adding how dear the Gonzagas are to the Barretto family.
“Alex is a very good friend of my sister so talagang mahal na mahal ng pamilya namin yung mga Gonzaga and vice versa. So, masakit sa akin na nakasakit ako ng tao dun sa video ko,” she said.
Dani also explained why she kept mum amidst the controversy which saw Alex receiving huge criticism on social media for several days.
“Kaya lang po ako hindi nagsasalita kasi ayoko na po siya talagang palakihin. Ayoko na pong pag-usapan. Parang move on na rin po tayo sa isyu na ito,” said Dani.
Dani also shared that she had already reached out and apologized to Alex over the matter.
“Okay kami ni Alex. Wala kaming ill feelings towards each other,” she stated.
The 30-year-old, likewise, offered her apologies to the waiter, Allan Crisostomo.
“Sorry po talaga Kuya Allan. Yung video mo nag-trending, I’m so sorry.Hindi ko ginusto yun. Hindi po yun ang intensiyon ko, Kuya Allan,” Dani was quoted as saying in a Pep report.
Alex previously penned a public apology to Allan and her family saying that the incident has taught her a “hard and important lesson” about “humility, kindness and better judgment.”
