Months after his controversial breakup with Kylie Verzosa, Jake Cuenca has finally explained the reason why he shared a photo of him crying to confirm the news.
In a candid interview with Boy Abunda, the actor shared that his feelings behind the photo was not just because of their separation.
“Pain. Loss. I think that was an accumulation of the things that had happened to me in the pandemic. In a weird way, this is a reset for me and I told myself na, I wanted this to be a reintroduction of what I can do as an actor,” he said.
When asked what continued to hurt him, Jake was honest when he opened up on how past memories still affected him.
“I’d say memories. Some memories, here and there. These past few months, I didn’t shy away from what I was going through. I didn’t really build a wall. I allowed myself to go through it,” he shared.
The 34-year-old then admitted that his recent breakup still hurts him.
It was just back in April when Jake broke his silence and confirmed his breakup with his girlfriend of three years with a series of photos, one of which was a raw snap of him crying.
“I’ll hold on to all our precious memories together with so much value. This past 3 years of my life have certainly been the best. I say this with a heavy heart but me and Kylie have decided to go our separate ways,” he wrote on an Instagram post.
