Filipino-American singer-songwriter H.E.R. is staying close to her roots even on stage.

The award-winning artist, who’s taking on the role of Belle in ABC’s television adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, had some special touches done on her costume for her fellow Filipinos.

In recently released snaps of H.E.R, whose real name is Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, eagle-eyed fans noticed that her costume was adorned with Baybayin letters of Belle’s name.

The 25-year-old shared on an interview with Good Morning America that it was a dream come true to become the first Black and Filipino, Disney Princess Belle and a producer of the special.

“I never thought I could be a Disney princess… I’d never seen one that looks like me, so I get to be that to little girls now,” she said.

ABC’s Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration is set to release on December 15 with next-day viewing on Disney+
