Sunshine Cruz made sure to remind her fans to educate those who use a person’s age as an insult. The actress made the reminder for her fans after a netizen called her a “lola”.
The 44-year-old took to social media to stress that the “privilege to age” is actually one denied to many people.
“Huwag nating gawing ugaliin at gamitin ang salitang ‘matanda’ to hurt, insult of describe a person negatively.
“I am proud of my age. At 44, I am healthy and happy. Ang mahalaga ay meron tayong pinagkatandaan. At higit sa lahat wala po tayong tinatapakan at sinasaktan just because nadadagdagan ang ating edad,” she wrote.
On the same Facebook post, she shared the screenshots of the comments netizens left on her posts. One said: “Lola yung buto mo ingat ingat din baka mabalian ka.”
Sunshine clapped back at the netizen, expressing how she would rather be a lola than be like the commenter.
“Kumain ka para magkaron ng nutrition ang katawang at pagiisip mo. You look frail and hungry. Take care and stay healthy,” she said.
